FUCK YOU!
Let me rephrase that
FUCK 90% OF YOU!
You smoke and smoke and smoke.... you puff up 2 packs a day for 15 years. You smell bad from it, you keep me from wanting to walk into buildings when you are out front smoking.....
And now they want people to be aware of the Lung cancer they got?
FUCK YOU!
Now, My heart felt sympathies to people who have it that DIDN'T smoke their life away. I totally support helping them.
But the ones who chose to waste their money and life by smoking their lungs full of death?
FUCK YOU YA FUCKIN CUNTS!
Yeah, those are my feelings...... I read about it on the TV and my blood boiled and brain exploded!

If it's something you can prevent by fighting an addiction (or simply never taking up the bad habit in the first place) or slow the onset of, then you should care enough about your body to stop. Sadly, some find the fight too hard. I find it depressing that some find this existence to be so stressing that they resort to tobacco in the first place (and let's not forget peer pressure).
My stance isn't as strong as Bill's. I feel pity for them, but I don't ignore their part in it.

I don't think weed can lead to lung cancer (unless you mix it with tobacco)... but, like cigarettes, it certainly can lead to respiratory issues down the road.
Hell, a TON of professional athletes smoke cigarettes and/or weed, and their lungs feel fine; but it only lasts so long.
Anyways...
I can't blame anybody for not quitting, but I can blame a lot of people for starting in the first place. At least, in my generation and the generation above me. My grandmother gets a by, since she started before the health dangers were really known (I just wish she'd quit; I feel like her habit has gotten worse in the past few years).
Here's the thing- we're all human. We all make mistakes. Taking up smoking is certainly one of the bigger mistakes somebody can make in their life, but... social pressures and the like...
Not to mention, most of Lung Cancer Awareness Month is aimed TOWARDS smokers, in an attempt to make them quit. "If you keep smoking, you'll end up like this."
Every smoker I know wants to quit. Every single one. I know a handful who were successful; others just can't find the willpower. With those... I get annoyed when they smoke around me, but 90% of the time they keep the smoke out of my face and whatnot.
I'll be moving to Chicago in about a year (unless something drastic happens), where smoking is banned from public places. I can't wait.

I smoked for a long ass time. From the time I was 14 until about two and a half years ago. Quitting was the best decision I ever made. I feel so much better, and save an assload of money. For me, I wanted to quit, but I was always hanging around smokers....when you want to quit, you should stay away from smokers....when Kristin and I got together, she told me point blank "I hate smoking...I can't tell you to quit, but I really wish you wouldn't do it. It's a disgusting habit"....so I thought about it....I wanted to quit, so why not try. So, I just stopped. I won't lie....some nights when I'm out to the bar or hanging with friends who smoke, I might take a couple drags off of their cig, but thats it. I don't smoke anymore. If I do take a couple drags off their cigarettes, it's one or two through the whole night....and thats not every time we hang out. A few weeks ago, I was hanging out in a room with friends playing cards....and drinking of course....as the night went on and the beer started taking over, I decided I wanted a couple drags off a friends cig....so I did....it wasn't a big deal. Since that night, I've had zero desires to smoke at all....and I've drank plenty of times since then....it's just not one of those things that I need anymore....if you are a smoker, and are thinking about quitting, spend some time with people who don't smoke....stay away from doing things that always make you want to smoke....and just stop....throw out your pack and stop....after a couple weeks, you'll be just fine.
