They have made The Pope the No.1 contender at the Against All Odds PPV.
I think that is awesome, a WWE reject, not a WWE superstar has managed to get himself to the top of the TNA card.
i do not see him winning the belt but Pope deserves it, he has proven to be a great talent on the stick and in the ring.
Pope/AJ could be an amazing match and actually an amazing feud that could build Pope into a legit player.
Wolfe/Anderson could have won, but they are heels and right now AJ needs a face to go against.
Im not a fan of Anderson yet, and am pleased that he did not steam roll into the title shot simply because he is a former wwe 'star'.
TNA can do things right...
...however the fact that the Nasty Boys had a match on PPV makes me want to vomit.

It kind of reminds me of Ron Killings... back when he was K-Kwik, he never managed to get beyond the Hardcore division. He leaves WWE, heads to TNA- he wins the NWA Title. Now he's back in WWE as R-Truth (still hate that name), and is a legit mid-carder... I'd love to see them push him to the top some day (but there's so many others who should get that push too... Benjamin, MVP, Matt Hardy, Christian, etc.)
But good for Pope! Definitely a gamble on TNA's part (simply because he's not established), but it's a good gamble, for a change- much better than this whole WCW-wannabe shit they've been pulling.

i just watched Popes promo from after winning the contendership www.tnawrestling.comit is a huge statement from me, but i think this guy is exciting, i got a feeling like when i used to watch The Rock promos and not want them to end. Pope can talk, and he brings you in...ill say it again, played right and Pope could be a big player for TNA and a shot in the arm to Vince who had no clue what to do with him

I was excited when Pope went to TNA....and he has just gotten better and better and better....he's talented....I really hope he does well in TNA. I would like to see them have Pope shock everyone and beat Styles for the title....then they can battle for a couple months, and have a really good solid feud. That would be awesome.
