Ok, so i decided to do this for a few reasons, firstly i love writing about anything wrestling related, secondly there is nothing going on in the RP boards and thirdly my ideas for the wwe are always perfect.
Im just going to run through the wwe titles and review the current state and say what ithink know would do them good.
Divas / Womens Championship
So currently there are 2 female titles in the wwe, i honestly can not even recall which one is on which show. The wwe has a limited amount of women who can actually work in the ring right now. I think Melina is out of action, leaving Beth/Kym/Maryse and McCool? Not sure if i am missing any.
The talent is spread way too thin over 2 shows.
My opinion is that they need to unify the 2 female championships and have the 'divas' free to appear on both shows. It really is no big suprise or benefit drafting them and having them work both shows might give the lesser works more in ring time to progress.
I know it is not going to happen, but this High School Musical type acting and storylines on Smackdown with the name calling etc is just lame.
I would suggest going back to basics and having the women feud simply because in general, women hate each other and want to be dominant. If Chyna could still work i would love to see her return, Chyna (in her prime) Vs Beth would have been great.
Unified Tag Team Championships
Current title holders are the Hart Dynasty which is just perfect, a real tag team that currently show no signs of splitting. A tag team thats billed as a team, thats great. I have also heard that Carlito and Primo are back on as a team, this time as heels. Thats GOOD.
The tag team titles and tag team division should be made up of good workers who are either preparing for a mid-card singles push in the future or guys who just dont work as singles wrestlers.
Jeri-Show and Sho-Miz were awesome, we know this, but it is time to see how the belts hold up without 'main event star power'.
Moving forward, it would be awesome to see the wwe push the tag division again, it would have been nice to see Cryme Tyme stick around for this and for the wwe to bring in another 'real' tag team.
4 solid tag team units that are not made up of singles wrestlers would do the division a world of good. Having a real feud thats battles out over TV shows and PPVs would do a world of good.
The Hart Dynasty are the right choice for the belts right now and should be feuding with others on the same position on the card for at least 12 months before they consider either splitting or being elevated.
US Championship
Current Champion is The Miz. Now, recently he has become one of the 3 top heels in the company alongside Jericho and Punk (Orton was, and Edge will be again real soon).
The Miz should be a future World Champion, but right now he is the US champion and could be a then man that makes that belt mean something and makes US title matches become 'must see'.
They almost had it with MVP Vs Miz, but it was blown.
Right now Miz and Jericho have teased becoming a team. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM THE TAG BELTS!
Sure they would be on both shows, but it has been done and as i said above, the tag divisions needs its own identity.
Miz and Jericho can make a great unit on Raw, without being billed as a tag team.
What i want to see is Miz being pushed as the US champion, a singles wrestler.
I think Miz/Morrison have the potential to go back and forth with this belt, but again it must be booked as important and must be defended in well pushed/advertised PPV matches.
Imagine 6 months worth of the US title being chased, dropped, defended, with guys being hungry for it. The Miz and Morrison could both use this belt to elevate them, like The Rock and HHH did with the the IC title back in the day.
IC Championship
Current Champion - Vacant.
I am torn on this.
Firstly i would have loved to see Matt Hardy feud for this belt with Drew and eventually take the belt from him. Hardy is a solid, reliable worker and whilst he is not a young talent it is clear he will never be a real main eventer, so he could be great with the IC title and the division as a whole.
The Drew/Hardy storyline has been done well.
However i am also interested in what has gone down, Drew being fired and the belt being vacated.
What i am not happy about is Christian Vs Kingston to determin the new champion. Sure the match should be awesome, but not only is it rushed, Christian should not be in a IC tourneyment. Lats week he was in the ring with Edge, saying he has not won a 'world title...yet' (nice burying of the ECW title, and no mention of his NWA title reigns).
Then the next week he forgets this and is in the IC division? SUCKS.
Kingston is awesome, but i would rather see the IC title on Rhodes or Ziggler.
But i hold out hope.
Smackdown has an awesome mid-card level division and once again, used correctly the IC belt could be 'must see TV'.
I hope Kingston walks out with the belt, and then moves into a programme with a number of heels chasing him for the belt. Rhodes/Ziggler and even Shad should be in this division.
Short title reigns are ok, the IC division should be about fast paced hungry talent wanting to make a name for themselves. I would be fine with seeing Shad upset Kingston in a few weeks time, walk around with the belt like he is the er, next big thing, then drop it back to Kingston, then releave him of the belt once again at a PPV. Throw Rhodes/Ziggler into that and find another 'face' (such as Hardy) and the IC division will have depth and interest.
oh...gotta go, will get to the World/WWE titles soon enough.
World Championship
This is why i think the brand split works, whilst we have a boring, nothing changes champion on Raw, we have a fresh young hungry champ on SD.
Jack Swagger has gone from an after thought to a guy who is on his way to being a legit World Champion. His promos are building and his in ring work will only get better, he is an athlete with genuine talent. JR must be proud, he scouted him.
I do not think there is much wrong with the SD world title scene right now.
Big Show is a good guy, he is effective as a face, especially against a cocky heel like Swagger, someone the majority of the fans want to see have his teeth smashed in.
i LOVE the knock out punch, or the KTFO (Knock the fuck out) as i like to call it.
Sure Punk deserves to be walking around with the belt, but i honestly believe he has done what few can do, and thats be seen as must push player even without a title belt. He took his shit from the Undertaker and has bounced back even better.
Right now im happy with Swagger as the the champion, i believe Show deserves a reign before his days in the ring are up, but not know.
If anything i would like to see C-Man feud with Swagger, they had a great run together in ECW and it would be fitting to let them go at it again. Christian is consistantly good and Swagger has improved a lot.
WWE Championship
Current champion, John Cena.
This show sucks a lot, short matches, wasted talent and a top title scene that is dominated by Cena.
Well that is not about to change, the wwe is PG and Cena is the poster boy.
But even in this PG era i think there is room for something that demands more interest.
Problem is, there is a huge lack of guys that are ready. Looking at the Raw roster, we have Orton, Batista, Edge, HHH as the top dogs...any mix of these guys has been done to death and holds ZERO interest to me. Seeing any of them with the wwe title holds ZERO interest to me. Jericho Vs Orton could be great, Orton is on the road to becoming a SCSA for this era, not as 'over', but doing a damn fine job. Soon he will be RKOing anyone, face heel or tweener and getting a pop. Jericho continues to be on top form, the greatest success period of his career and this feud would at least feel fresh.
Dibiase is not ready, i hear he may soon be heading up his own stable with his brother and Curt Hennings son. Thats fine, but Ted does not have the standing to be WWE champion right now, Swagger demands more respect than he does.
Raw is dominated by huge names, ll of which have had the belt multiple times so finding something fresh is difficult.
Regards Raw and the WWE title...i give up.
