Who needs credible tag teams? Not the WWE. This is like WCW. Seriously. Who the fuck is in charge of the tag team division and why are they letting it get pissed on? Remember in the 80s and early 90s how great it was? There were probably ten SIGNIFICANT tag teams in the company at all times over the course of ten years that were always contending for the straps. Truly amazing how they've lost that art.
Brainbusters Hart Foundation Demolition Rockers The British Bulldogs Steiner Brothers Orient Express w/ Fuji Road Warriors Headshrinkers The Powers of Pain The Quebecers The Fabulous Rougeaus Rhythm and Blues Strike Force The Killer Bees
Shall I continue?

Get this: In the late 1980s and early 1990s when these teams reigned supreme.. they didn't have a television deal (right at the end they got RAW, but most of these teams glory days were gone), and four PPVs. They were also a smaller regional company with little money. And had the pockets to employ all these teams, the managers that came with them AND a plethora of singles stars.
Now they have three television shows, and fourteen PPVs a year. There's more WWE coverage on tv as well, such as RAW AM and when NXT was on tv. They can afford to throw some money at the tag division. I get that they don't care but they have absolutely no excuse other than that.

apparently we (the fans) do not really have any interest in tag team wrestling.
and you know what, if they are asking this to newer fans then it is probably the case, but thats because of the awful booking over the last almost ten years. If you missed the last interesting period of the Dudleys/Hardys and E&C then why exactly would you say you enjoy tag wrestling in the wwe?
if there was a reason to care anymore then the breakup of the Hart Dynasty would piss me off, but the tag division means nothing, absolutely nothing so there is no point investing concern into the teams because we all know they are not set up to last.
it is not like it would be difficult, the wwe has had plenty of good teams in recent years, some have even got great initial pushes but within weeks, sometimes months they have been dropped and all interest has been pissed on.
Its not even like splitting tag teams has been a success as of late...
They split Cryme Tyme...one big guy, one little guy...thats not done anything for either guy at the moment.
Jesse and Festas...well sure Festas has gotten something out of it, but has still remained in a jobber role and if the SES officially break up then what?
anyway, ive wasted enough time now talking about something that is not about to change anytime soon.

Posting from my phone, you see the problem is that currently and in years past. Many wrestlers do not like getting painted with the tag brush as it leads to a dead end. Eventually, one guy becomes the top guy of the team. This means the other guy will be the loser. i.e.: Stevie Ray, Christian, Matt Hardy, D-Von
Also bear in mind once you are in a tag team for so long, the fans will only ever accept you as a team. Much like GEorge Reeves could only play Superman or Mark Hammill only does voice over work now, and Tom Baker will always be Dr. Who.
i.e.: Animal, any member of Demolition, Bradshaw had to become JBL To escape the Acolytes.
In addition to this, the WWE uses the tag division to try and promote flagging singles stars or get them quick heat. Which means Legit tag teams are quickly buried and cast aside.
It also means they waste alot of opportunities by not pushing teams when they are hot.
i.e.: Cryme Tyme, Hart Dynasty, Gate Crashers
Or worse, pushing the wrong teams.

That is my real beef, most of the big teams these days? And many of them that were named are in fact just two successful stars formed into a tag team. That is not a long term solution, it is just a quick fix.

At least this will give Vance Archer a chance to prove he's a badass on his own but....this just shows there's another tag team down the drain.....
