*The scene opens up in an empty arena. The stage, aisle, AWA-tron, banners that hang from the rafters, and ring aprons are all showing Aftershock meaning we are just hours from the pay-per-view. Inside the ring "The Role Model" is apparently watching a match between imaginary figures. The AWA Undisputed World Title is around his waist as he is wearing a referee's shirt and a pair of khakis. After a few more seconds of action, Jordan drops down and gives a three count. He calls for the bell, but no one rings it. Jordan pulls a microphone out of one of his pockets and looks straight up while speaking a la the Rock.*
Jordan: "YOUR WINNER AND PRE-MATCH CHAMPION, WHITEYYYYYYYYYYY FORRRRRRRRRDDDDDDDDDD!"
*He looks at the imaginary audience who is likely losing their non-existent minds and gives his goofy grin. Jordan then turns to the camera.*
Jordan: "Congratulations, Whitey. You got the press and the buzz going into the match. There is nothing that will happen in this day that will be bigger than you finally connecting with one of your hardcore attacks on me. That set the wrestling world on fire. You are the pre-match champion. Wear that invisible belt with pride. I guess I will have to settle for wearing a real championship with pride."
*Jordan gives his goofy grin as he walks over to the corner and leans sideways into it, so he's looking at the ramp.*
Jordan: "Whitey Ford is the most impressive force the AWA has...Tuesday through Saturday. However, when it comes to Sunday and Monday and we actually have real matches and shows, I take that title. Ford, you knocked me out. You probably could have laid on top of me for three seconds. I doubt I would have kicked out. You won the invisible belt that day."
*Jordan chuckles to himself.*
Jordan: "Kind of the story of your life, huh? You get people to pay attention to you, then you fail to finish the time when the real match comes. I bet your trophy case is full of invisible belts you won before the match, which is good because you never won many after the ball rang."
*Jordan stands up and walks to the middle of the ring.*
Jordan: "Real wrestlers figure you out by the time the match comes. Your funny hijinks make for decent television and help move merchandise. You are a really good entertainer, Whitey. You cannot with the people in a way few people can. That is something to be proud of, and I hope you are. The thing is that I do not stop at being a good entertainer. I transition from entertainer to wrestler, and I wind up getting even better."
*Jordan pats the Undisputed World Title.*
Jordan: "And unlike you, I save my best for the real gold. I am not a pre-match champion. I am a real champion. I win real gold in real matches because that is what I do. That is the true sign of achievement. The history books will show my impressive title reigns and wins, and generations to come will be able to determine with a quick glance that I was nothing short of legendary. They will look at my career and sum it up with the word 'greatness.' I was invincible in the ring, and I was a pretty entertaining guy outside of it. When they look at your career, they will say that you were a good comedian who had some wrestling skills."
*Jordan sighs.*
Jordan: "There is a reason why the comedy awards at the Emmys and Oscars are first. No one takes them seriously. It takes more than cheap laughs to be viewed as great. It takes more than cheap shots outside of the match to beat me. Really, what were you trying to prove, Bucky? I was hit by a car before a match once! You think those brass knuckles will slow me down? You just prepared me for a powerful weapon in your arsenal, and you did not even hurt me enough to affect the match. That is why you can never transition to being 'great.'"
*He walks to the ropes to get closer to the ramp as if Whitey's actually there.*
Jordan: "I tried to be a nice guy. We grew up in this business together, so I wanted to help you. Token hardcore wrestlers never go that far. Terry Funk, Mick Foley, and Sabu all took and dished out a lot of abuse, but how successful were they? Many a handful of world title reigns? Contrast that with Bret Hart, Ric Flair, and Shawn Michaels, who have about twenty-five world title reigns between them. Whitey, you are king of this fictional kingdom of moral victories and hype, but that stupid crown gets knocked off your head when 'Even Flow' hits and I am defending my title. I would apologize for what I am about to do to your psyche, but after your cheap shot, I say you have this coming."
*Jordan drops the microphone and exits the ring as the scene ends.*
