(The show cuts backstage and shows a chess board with a few pieces remaining on the board. The camera zooms out and shows Croc sitting behind the chess board. He has a smug smirk on his face with a very loose grip on the king piece).
(CROC)
Everyone wants to be the King. If they are not the King, they want to be the one to take out the King. Whether it be a simple game of chess, during wars in years past or on the sporting fields, people either want to be the King or take him out.
(Croc picks up a pawn and holds it up)
(CROC)
For most people this is all they will amount to. A pawn. A person who has no real meaning except to be cannon fodder to protect the King. Their life is meaningless because they are dispensable, unmemorable or just another ‘body’.
(Croc smirks)
(CROC)
Don’t be fooled though... Most of the men in the AWA are simply pawns with big mouths and who either do not know their place as a pawn or simply not willing to accept it.
(Croc places the pawn down)
(CROC)
In my past days in the AWA, CWA or BWA, I have come up against true legends of this industry. If it were a game of chess, they would have been bishops, rooks, knights or queens... However one thing always remains true from back then to the current day... There is only one King and he is the Aussie Icon.
(Croc picks up the King piece again)
(CROC)
Time and time again, I have proven to the world, the industry and my opponents that I am the best this industry has to offer. Whether it be my many championships around the world or my legendary matches against some of the best the industry has had to produce... One thing remains true... To have true greatness or legendary status in this industry, you need my association. Whether it be the villain in a memorable feud or whether it be my participation in a historic match... You only need my name to be mentioned and people will stand up and take notice.
(Croc places the King piece back on the board)
(CROC)
Now in the AWA, I have the opportunity to once again become the AWA Undisputed Champion. Whilst this should be a given because my class far outweighs, I will once again prove I am without equal and beyond my peers inside the squared circle. This match, I will once again enter the Elimination Chamber structure, which I have entered before, and walked out victorious. Why? Because it does not matter the gimmick in the match or how much the odds are stacked against me, when you are playing against me, the King never gets compromised, the King never gets captured but most of all, the King never gets beaten.
(Croc laughs to himself)
(CROC)
Now Green likes to think he is MY champion but everyone in this industry knows he is simply the transitional champion before I once again reign supreme in this company. This whole Elimination Chamber match is proof to my words... How? Because the AWA doesn’t want a ‘bad guy’ versus ‘bad guy’ match headlining their pay per view, so they put multiple persons in a match so the title can be taken from Green by myself and still give the stupid AWA fans someone to cheer for during the match.
(Croc looks directly at the camera)
(CROC)
Green I am sure you were pretty good here in the AWA... Probably the best of a mediocre bunch... But I have arrived and the game has changed. No longer is ‘good enough’ going to cut it. No longer are average midcarders going to be able to headline this company. Why? Because I refuse to lower myself to fight midcarders. I am a superstar and I am King of the AWA. I have seen them all and beaten them all in my time and that is something you, or any of my other opponents can say or will ever be able to say.
(Croc shrugs his shoulders before winking at the camera)
(CROC)
The sad thing is that you just don’t get it. As soon as I stepped foot into the AWA arena, I already defeated you for the title. Why? Because my aura does that itself. I haven’t even started messing with your head and manipulating your mind and I have already gotten you on the back foot. I have you coming after me... Why is that dangerous for you? Because it always meant to be the champion who is hunted, not the hunter. You’ve tried to get on the front foot, but you haven’t realised you’ve stepped two paces backwards. When you see me in the middle of the Elimination Chamber, holding a title you so graciously minded for me, you will realised what I am talking about. You might even learn something. But I will give you one lesson right here and now...
(Croc holds up the King piece again)
(CROC)
This King... King Croc... Never gets checkmated!
(Scene ends and the camera fades to black)
