AWA MONDAY NIGHT ANARCHY - the Report!
TWO OUT OF THREE FALLS MATCH
Ryan Green vs.Korey Kill
The contrast was interesting to say the least, with both men inciting hatred from the fans, perhaps a little more for Ryan Green given that Korey Kill was a new face on the scene.
The first fall was decided after 8 minutes of intense brawling, with the larger man, Korey getting what appeared to be the upper hand, but it was Ryan Green who hit the ‘NGFU’ to secure a one up advantage. The next few minutes saw Green work over the left arm of Korey Kill, having been strained during the NGFU, Green was now looking for a submission, but Korey had other ideas and ended up showing the world how dominant he could be by hitting the ‘The Sickest Kill’ (3 powerbombs) on the former awa world champion to take the second fall.
With the match nearing 20 minutes and both men were showing signs of fatigue when Whitey Ford with The Freak emerged, to much fanfare.
The Freak took the referees attention as Whitey Ford entered the ring with a steel chair, sizing up both men he eventually picked Ryan Green to be the recipient of a steel-skull connection. Whitey Ford left without explaining his actions, one can only assume he wanted to show that he too had a ‘mean streak’.
Back in the ring, Korey Kill had no issue with using this to his advantage, waiting for Green to stagger to his feet and then grabbing him from behind and slamming him into the mat with a full nelson slam to take home the third and final fall, making it 2-1.
ANYTHING GOES MATCH
Whitey Ford w/The Freak vs. James Lucas w/Sid Manzen & "The Bitch" Miss Clementine
The fans were hot for this, and rightly so, Ford had been wanting this match for a long time and James Lucas was happy to give it to him. Within moments the action moved to ringside as the two men took full advantage of the ‘anything goes’ rules. It had been also ruled just before the bell that ‘falls count anywhere’ so the referee was flying about at ringside as both men tried for numerous quick falls, but neither gaining the advantage as the action moved back into the ring.
Miss Clementine neutralised The Freak, using her feminine charms to evert his gaze as Sid Manzen attempted to get involved, setting up to hit Ford with a powerful running clothesline, but Ford side stepped and Manzen ended up almost taking off Lucas’s head and sending him crashing through the ropes back to ringside.
After shaking off the unexpected attack, Lucas shout all kinds of hell at Manzen before waving his arms in the air and telling anyone who would listen that he was through with wrestling for the night, he was done. James Lucas headed up the ramp as Miss Clementine and a very concerned Sid Manzen followed.
Back in the ring the ref was stumped, he could not count James Lucas out as there were no rules in the match, the ref eventually called for a no contest, much to the annoyance of Whitey Ford.
However Ford got the Freak to lift his hand in victory, knowing that he came out of it looking the better man, but then Fords facial expression changed, he looked to The Freak and started shouting at him, down talking him for being more interested in Miss Clementine than he was making sure Ford was able to pick up a win and then suddenly Ford cracked The Freak square in the jaw with a right and the fans were shocked into silence. Whitey Ford looked emotionless as he left the ring, but he was going to return, only now he had a steel chair once again and he used it to graphic levels, shot after shot raining down on the Freaks defenceless body, the fans for possibly the first time in memory booing the hell out of Whitey Ford!
Ford was only stopped by the arrival of Ryan Green, who headed to the ring with a chair of his own, but Ford high tailed before he could get caught. The fans cheering of the ‘saviour’ was cut short when Green took to the mic, making it clear he had not shown up to save The Freak and had not come out here to get cheers, Green told the fans to shove their cheers up their a***’s. Green said he was out in the ring because if Whitey Ford thought he was going to become the biggest bastard in the awa, he was sadly mistaken.
Fords response? An action killing silence as he walked around the ring and out of the arena.
MAIN EVENT
MjW w/Angela Jordan-Windsor vs. Anthony Jordan vs. Slam II
It was main event time and arguably the three biggest names in the business were facing each other and the relationships between all three were confusing!
However, there was to be a huge let down as Anthony Jordan failed to show up. After some discussion it was agreed that the match would take place as a one on one, MjW Vs Slam II.
MjW w/Angela Jordan-Windsor vs. Slam II
Slam started by trying to get MJ to enjoy a ‘pre match’ smoke, the offer was refused, the sour taste of Jordan’s no-show was slightly sweetened by the funny scene in the ring.
Once the bell had rung though it was all business, these two men know each other very very well and getting the upper hand for either was not an easy task.
Each wrestler getting a great response from the fans as they hit signature moves and both men kicking out of finishing moves.
The end came as a surprise, MJ had Slam standing in front of him, a kick to the stomach brought the stoned outlaw down and MJ went for a DDT, but Slam countered it into a small package and as quick as that the ref was in position to count the 3.
MJ was clearly frustrated, slamming his fists on the mat straight after the pin was over, but MJ restrained himself and actually offered Slam a handshake in recognition of a job well done. MJ and Slam shock hands before MJ, along with his wife, left Slam in the ring to celebrate a triumphant return for him and hopefully, the awa.
