*”Killing In The Name Of” by Rage Against The Machine blared in the arena as the last AWA PPV was under way. The night kicked off with a triple threat barbed wire ladder match. This match had high stakes. If Slam II could win this match, he would face MJ Windsor later on in one of the main event matches. This match was a blood bath as Korey Kill and Pete Abruscato were there to brawl. At one point, it looked like Slam II was going to lose as Korey Kill hit a spinning leg drop on top of Slam II and the barbed wire ladder. Both men were in a lot of pain, and Pete Abruscato saw an opportunity to pick up the win . . . however, that wasn’t the way it worked out. Slam II kicked out and started to fight his way back. Korey Kill was taken out of the match when he was thrown from the top ropes and through a table set up outside the ring. This left Slam II and Pete Abruscato inside the ring. Pete’s head was bounced off the ladder a couple times, splitting him wide open. Before you knew it, Slam II lifted the ladder up and swung it at Pete. The sound of ladder smacking off of skull echoed through the arena. Pete dropped and Slam II made the cover, picking up the win and a shot at MJ Windsor.*
WINNER: SLAM II
*As soon as the match was over, the CEO Mr. Timothy Draven came walking out with the entire New Connection. They stood on the stage and let Slam II know that the match he had just won, was the last match he’d ever win in the AWA. Mr. Timothy Draven then made a shocking announcement. He wanted everyone to know that being the TVX Title was never wrestled for in the AWA, the match for that title would NOT HAPPEN . . . Mr. Timothy Draven added salt to an open wound by letting Jake Andrews, Justin Voss and Alexis Morningstar know that they were all fired, and none of them would get paid a single cent.*
WINNER: NO CONTEST, MR. DRAVEN CANCELLED THE MATCH
*The AWA then took a look at the odd relationship between The Aussie Icon Croc and Gregory “Ripper” Kennedy.*
*When we came back from the promo, Anthony Jordan was seen walking around backstage. He knocked on Chris Holtz’s locker room door, but no one answered. Anthony Jordan opened the door, but it was completely empty. AJ looked confused as he walked away and headed toward the ring.*
*Anthony Jordan came out ready for a battle, but a battle would not happen. He stood in the ring and waited for Chris Holtz to appear. Holtz’s music played a couple of times, but he never came out. Anthony Jordan looked annoyed as the fans were booing Chris Holtz. Suddenly, the lights flickered. AJ looked around, trying to figure out what was happening . . . the lights went completely out . . . after about 15 seconds, the lights came back on, but Anthony Jordan was nowhere to be seen. The lights went back out and the AWA Tron lit up. The screen showed someone in a black mask standing over a lifeless Chris Holtz. It then flashed the words “Anthony, I accept your Jordan Cup offer . . . this is not over.” This obviously left everyone shocked and confused.*
WINNER: NO CONTEST

*The next match was a falls count anywhere match between The Aussie Icon Croc and Gregory “Ripper” Kennedy. Most matches begin in the ring. This one never had that chance. As soon as Croc exited his locker room, he was met with a kick to the face by Ripper. Ripper quickly went on the attack, and showed the reason why he is a legend in the hardcore world. Ripper bounced Croc’s head off the ice cold brick wall, repeatedly. Once Croc fell to the ground, Ripper made a quick cover. Croc however, still had a lot of gas in the tank and kicked out after a two count.
Croc started a comeback when he blocked a couple of right hooks from Ripper. Croc then dropped Ripper with a solid knee to the groin. While Ripper was on his knees Croc stepped back, then ran forward and placed a knee right in the side of Rippers head. Ripper fell face first against the concrete floor. Instead of pinning Ripper, Croc picked him up and tossed him through a set of double doors. Now both men were outside the arena. The ice cold ground was covered in a dusting of snow. You could see both wrestlers breath as they were breathing due to the frigid cold temperature. Croc kicked Ripper in the side. Ripper grabbed his ribs, feeling the effects of the hard kick. Croc bent over to pick up Ripper, but Ripper poked Croc in the eyes. Ripper slowly got to his feet. He waited for Croc to stop rubbing his eyes. As soon as Croc stopped, Ripper went for a huge boot to the face. Croc moved out of the way, grabbed Ripper by the head and slammed him face first into the side of an 18 wheeler.
Croc went to grab Ripper, but Ripper shoved Croc away and surprised everyone by hitting Croc with a “Croc-Kick” . . . Croc dropped to the ground. Ripper dropped on top of Croc and the referee went for the count. As the referee hit 2 ½ , Croc kicked out. Ripper looked slightly frustrated. Ripper picked Croc up and hit the “Death-Roll”, which also surprised everyone. Ripper grinned, knowing that Croc would be annoyed with Ripper using these moves. Ripper made a count, but Croc kicked out at 2 ½ once again. Ripper grabbed his hair and let out a loud sigh of frustration. Ripper lifted Croc up and went for The Virus, but Croc reversed the move and hit a “Death-Roll” of his own. Croc dropped on Ripper and the referee began to count. Ripper kicked out at 2 ½ , much like Croc had done. Croc walked over to the door and opened it. He grabbed a folded up table and brought it outside. He then went back inside and pulled out a ladder. Croc leaned the ladder against the 18 wheeler. Croc started to climb the ladder. Once at the top, Ripper had started to get to his feet. Ripper looked up at Croc. Croc motioned for Ripper to get up on top of the 18 wheeler as well. Ripper took the dare and quickly climbed up as well.
As soon as they were on top of the 18 wheeler, they began beating the hell out of each other. They exchanged multiple lefts and rights. Suddenly, Croc showed just how dirty of a player he is. Croc kicked Ripper right in the balls. Ripper dropped to his knees. Croc looked at Ripper and spit right in his face. This fired up Ripper. Croc slapped Ripper across the face. Ripper got to his feet and hit Croc with a couple hard rights. Croc however, dropped Ripper with a solid right hook to the balls. Ripper bent over and quickly was met with a Croc-Kick. The impact sent Ripper falling off the 18 wheeler and landing through the table. Ripper was lifeless, laying in a pile of broken table. Croc climbed down the ladder and made a cover. Shockingly, Ripper kicked out just before the three count. Croc couldn’t believe it. Croc stood up and grabbed the legs from the busted table. Croc began beating Ripper with the metal legs. Ripper was now a bloodied mess. Croc lifted Rippers bloodied body up and hit the “Death-Roll” . . . Croc dropped down and picked up the hard fought victory.*
WINNER: THE AUSSIE ICON CROC
*Inside the arena, the fans were pumped after seeing an incredible match between two greats. Ryan Green came out and got in the ring. Whitey Ford came out next and both men were now ready for what would be absolute hell. 60 minutes in one match was a lot for anyone. These types of matches are set to bring out the best in both wrestlers and that’s exactly what happened. Both men were evenly matched. Whitey quickly got the upper hand, but once Ryan Green got his hands on a steel chair, things got crazy. Ryan Green showed just how vicious he can be by blasting Whitey in the face with the chair. When I say blasting him, Green absolutely wrecked Whitey with the chair shot. Green dropped down and picked up a quick pinfall.
Green 1, Ford 0 – 13:23min
As soon as Green picked up the first pinfall, he picked the chair back up. He patiently waited for Whitey to get to his feet. As soon as Whitey started to stand up, a sickening thud echoed through the arena as Whitey was blasted in the face again with the chair. Whitey’s head was busted wide open and he was out cold. Green made the cover and picked up another pinfall.
Green 2, Ford 0 – 15:01min
Green continued his attack on Ford. However, once the match hit the half hour mark, things changed. Ford started a comeback of his own. Out of nowhere, Ford hit his finisher and picked up a victory of his own.
Green 2, Ford 1, 31:11min
As soon as the match continued, Green started brawling back. Now, the fans were really getting a treat watching both men give it their all. At one point, Green was busted open when Whitey slammed Greens head into the corner post. The match continued outside for a minute. Green slid back in the ring. Ford followed and was met with a huge clothesline from Green. Green grabbed Ford, but Ford blocked it and hit his finished again. Ford made the cover and picked up the pinfall.
Green2, Ford2, 41:53min
The next couple minutes were insane. Ford had the clear upper hand advantage. Ford picked up two more pinfalls, making the count:
Green 2, Ford 4, 47:17min
With twelve minutes left, Green knew he needed to get the upper hand. Ford however had other plans and kept brutally attacking Green. Green dug down deep and knocked Ford back by hitting a few hard rights. Ford went for a huge right but Green ducked it and hit his finisher. Green made the cover and picked up a pinfall.
Green 3, Ford 4 51:01min
Green picked Ford up. Ford hit a low blow and went for his finisher. Green reversed it and went for his finisher. Ford reversed that and again went for his finisher, but Green blocked it and won the battle of finishers. Ford was out. Green was exhausted. He dropped an arm over Ford and tied up the match.
Green 4, Ford 4 56:26
With only a couple minutes left, both men were exhausted. They spent the next 30 seconds trying to get to their feet. With the clock at 57 minutes, both men came out swinging. Both were a bloodied mess. Both were exhausted. Both had four wins, and both wanted nothing more than to beat the other. Ford grabbed Green and set him up for Ford’s finisher. Out of nowhere, Green got out of the move and went for a huge clothesline, but Ford dropped down, ducking the clothesline, grabbed Green and hit his finisher. Both men dropped to the mat. Ford dropped an arm on Green and got a pinfall.
Green 4, Ford 5 58:45
With a little over a minute left, the referee waited as both men were getting to their feet. Out of nowhere, Green hit his finisher. Ford dropped down and was out. Green looked at the clock and saw it said 5 seconds left. Green dropped on Ford and made the cover . . . 1 . . . 2 . . . FORD GETS HIS FOOT ON THE ROPES . . . the clock runs out, and Green is in shock. He can’t believe he didn’t tie it up because Ford’s foot was on the ropes. The referee separated both men. Green sat there with a blank look on his face. Ford was still lying there breathing heavy. Green stood to his feet and looked at the folded up chair. He then looked at Ford. The fans were going crazy. Green walked over and reached his hand out. Ford looked at him. Ford grabbed the hand. Green helped Ford up. Both men looked at one another, bloodied and exhausted. Ford reached out his hand, offering a hand shake. Green looked unsure, but listened to the cheering fans and accepted the handshake. The fans all cheered. BAM, RYAN GREEN HIT HIS FINISHER . . . and rolls out of the ring and up the ramp, leaving Ford a bloodied mess.
WINNER: WHITEY FORD

*The next match was to determine the last AWA Undisputed Hardcore Champion. The longest champion in AWA history James Lucas would take on the hardcore legend Crazy Bill in a Last Man Standing Match. Both men brought everything they had to the table and did not let the fans down. Every weapon imaginable was brought into this match including chairs, ladders, tables, kendo sticks, street signs, garbage cans, a cheese grater, a 2x4 and a bag of tacks . . . both men were bloodied and beaten after 10 minutes of the match . . . Crazy Bill hit The Asylum and everyone cheered thinking the match was over, but, James Lucas got back to his feet by the count of 9 . . . James Lucas started to take over and hit The World’s Deadliest Finisher. Everyone thought that was the end of the match, but Crazy Bill got back to his feet by the count of 9 as well. The match continued with both men giving it their all. At one point, the fans began to chant “holy shit” after watching James Lucas hit a top rope suplex on Crazy Bill to the OUTSIDE of the ring, through a table!!! Both men weren’t moving. The referee started counting both men out. Once the referee hit 7, they both started to move. By 9, they were up and swinging at one another again. Crazy Bill got a huge pop from the fans by grabbing a bottle of beer from a fan . . . he pounded the beer and then smashed the bottle over James Lucas’s head. James dropped and the referee began counting again . . . Bill stopped the referee though at the count of 8 and started using James as a punching bag again. Bill reached under the ring and pulled out a barbwire whiffle ball and swung it at James. James ducked and then kicked Bill in the balls. Bill dropped the bat, James grabbed Bill and hit The World’s Deadliest Finisher on the baseball bat that lay on the concrete ground. The impact was nasty and Bill was out. The referee counted to 10 and James was able to walk away as the last AWA Undisputed Hardcore Champion.*
WINNER: JAMES LUCAS

*The next match saw one of the AWA’s greatest feuds battle one more time for the most coveted prize in the AWA, the AWA Undisputed World Heavyweight Championship as MJ Windsor battled against Slam II. These two men weren’t strangers to one another and it showed in the ring. Never before in the AWA had we seen so many reversals and blocks. It seemed as though every time Slam II went for a big move, MJ Windsor had a counter, and every time MJ Windsor went for a big move, Slam II returned the favor. Slam II tried to get MJ to tap out on multiple occasions but was unsuccessful each time. MJ continued to get out of the moves and then fight back with some stiff punches of his own. Once MJ got Slam down on the mat, he (MJ) turned into a man possessed as he began stomping away at Slam II. You could see the intensity in MJ’s eyes as he stomped down on Slam II’s head over and over again. At one point, the referee stopped the match so he could check on Slam II to see if he could continue. The referee asked Slam II if he wanted to quit and Slam II mumbled “fuck off Jack, there’s no way I’m quitting this sum’ bitch” . . . Once MJ heard that, he went back on the attack. Slam II however continued fighting back and eventually took control as he tossed MJ over the ropes and then dove over the ropes and landed on top of his rival. The match went back and forth outside the ring, but MJ, being as quick and sneaky as he is, took advantage of Slam II by planting his forehead into the corner post. Slam dropped quickly, but MJ wasn’t done. He went right back after Slam II, but Slam managed to hit a low blow that dropped MJ. Both men were exhausted. Slam II out of nowhere locked in a figure four leg lock. MJ was screaming, but refused to tap out. MJ picked up the kendo stick from the previous match and began hitting Slam II in the head with it. Slam II released the hold. As both men got to their feet, MJ grabbed Slam II by the head and planted a knee right to Slam II’s face. Slam immediately grabbed his face. Blood began gushing from his nose. It was clear that MJ had broken Slam II’s nose. MJ rolled Slam II in the ring. MJ, showing that he is a true heel, grabbed a chair and slid in the ring. Slam II was dazed, but got to his feet. As he did, MJ reached back and swung the chair as hard as he could. The seat of the chair connected with Slam II’s face. Slam II dropped like a ton of bricks. MJ lifted up the chair and began smashing it over Slam II’s body. MJ dropped the chair, picked up Slam II and hit the Ego Trip (MKO) . . . MJ dropped down and got the three count. After the match, MJ lifted the title high above his head. Timothy Draven came down to the ring, as well as James Lucas. All three men stood in the ring with their arms raised showing unity in The New Connection.*
WINNER: MJ WINDSOR
