A pretty bizarre night that added to the interest leading into Anything Goes, that’s how Saturday Night Anarchy is set to be remembered!
Hardcore Rules: Crazy Bill Vs Mankind
The show kicked off with a match set by MJ Windsor that was intended to ‘aid’ his New Connection brother, James Lucas as Crazy Bill went one on one in a Hardcore Match against Mankind!!! Whilst later in the night Lucas would take on Mick Foleys other alias, Cactus Jack who would likely be a little banged up!
The brown tights and ripped white work shirt were quite the sight inside the AWA ring, and when the bell sounded both men went right at it, fists flying left and right but suddenly it stopped, Crazy Bill fell onto his back and Mankind did too, both men they reached out and laid an arm over each other. The refs confusion soon cleared as Bill demanded he make a count, and three seconds later the call was made for a ‘double pin fall, both men won and both men lost’!?!?
The Crazy One got onto the mic following the ‘match’ and let it be known that Crazy Bill and Mick Foley had a meeting of the minds earlier in the day and that later on in the night ‘Cactus Jack’ was going to be as fresh as a daisy when he meets James Lucas!!!
Ultimate X 6 Man Tag: 'The Solution' Jake Andrews, 'Your Legend' Justin Voss, Alexis Morningstar Vs Austin Aries, Alex Shelly, Paul London
This full throttle match saw all 6 men in the ring, the X hanging above the ring and a lot of very risky action!
The TNA X Division champion and his current rival, Alex Shelly had a little trouble working together as the match started, leaving Paul London to endure a 3 on 1 beat down by a surprisingly cooperative Andrews, Voss and Morningstar.
The announcers had a tough time calling the match as moves were being done at lightening speed but eventually it was Jake Andrews who found the solution and scaled the heights to grab the X, and the win for his team. However this signalled the end of any alliance by the three men and a brawl broke out which eventually had to be pulled apart by security.
In some backstage happenings, we saw James Lucas freaking out at what had happened in the opening match, having been sure that Mick Foley would have been in no real state to compete later as Cactus Jack! MJ told him that he still had nothing to worry about, but that he had better get his head straight because MJ would not be around to help out as he had his own match to deal with
Submission Match: ‘The Corinthian’ Chris Holtz Vs ‘The Dragon’ Rick Steamboat
Sadly this match which was hoped would be an instant classis never took place. No one has seen or heard from Chris Holtz. Mystery surrounds the man who is set to face Anthony Jordan at the Anything Goes PPV.
The fans did get to see the WWE Hall of Famer though, Ricky Steamboat came out and thanks them all for their support and promised that had he competed they would have seen that he ‘still had it’.
Tag Team: ‘The Role Model’ Anthony Jordan, Gregory "Ripper" Kennedy vs.
‘The Road Dog’ Jesse James, ‘Bad Ass’ Billy Gunn
Whether intentional or not, this match was funny from start to finish. Billy Gunn started off the drama by turning around in front of Anthony Jordan and pointing to his ‘ass’, quite rightly appualld at the behaviour Jordan refused to take the fight and also wondered why Gunn would think that Jordan wanted to look at his backside. It was Ripper who explained the possible reason, which Jordan seemed genuinely shocked by and still insisted that Ripper start things off.
The match eventually got into a stride and whilst Jordan and Gunn never crossed paths the action was fluid.
The action came to a finish when Jordan locked in the Idolizer on The Road Dogg and he tapped.
Afterwards The New Age Outlaws offered their hands in friendship and invited Anthony Jordan to join in with their famous promo lines, but the Role Model simply looked discussed and walked off, but Ripper was not going to pass up the chance to make a little bit of history and took the time to give the fans what they wanted
Hardcore Rules: ‘The Franchise’ James Lucas vs. Cactus Jack
What looked like it would be an easy ride for the longest reigning champion in AWA history was anything but.
Cactus made sure everyone was clear just what the match would be like even before the bell rang when he throw in 5 chairs, a ring bell, meters of cable, a tool box and of course a barbed wire baseball bat all into the ring. James Lucas stood strong, sledge hammer in hand, determined that it would be enough to get the job done.
And Lucas did win the first round, Cactus had charged with a chair but Lucas used the sledge hammer to smash it out of the way and then started to assault Cactus.
The hardcore legend eventually managed to change the tide and gained a huge advantage when he wrapped up Lucas’s legs in the cable! Now at his mercy, a bloodied Cactus Jack set about bringing a shade of red to Lucas’s own face, and it did not take long.
Luckily for Lucas The Bitch turned up and once again hit Cactus with a low blow from the sledge hammer and then helped her man free himself from the cable.
The thought of a 2 on 1 attack did not last long. Crazy Bill hit the ring and went straight for The Bitch. Now normally the fans would not cheer on this kind of thing, but when it involves The Bitch there is no concern for her safety!
But the distraction ended up providing enough time for Lucas to compose himself and to hit Cactus with the Worlds Deadliest Finisher and winning the match.
The sour taste in the fans mouths was wiped away though as the final image of this blood bath was of Crazy Bill standing over James Lucas, having put him down with a powerbomb following the match.
Aussie Challenge: ‘The Aussie’ Icon Croc Vs Nathan Jones
Short and sweet, a short match that was sweet for Croc.
Nathan Jones entered the ring and walked straight into a CrocKick and that was that. Croc spent more time talking following the match than he did actually participating. The Aussie Icon informed Ripper that his fate could very well be the same as the fallen Nathan Jones, should he decided to finish Ripper within 5 seconds when they meet at Anything Goes.
Billionairre Sons: ‘The Golden Child’ Nicholas Jacob Draven Vs ‘Shane O Mac’ Shane McMahon
The meeting of two ridiculously rich ‘Sons’ who have had to spend a lot of time trying to gain credit for themselves rather than simply for being Billonairre sons.
Well with one former world champion and one daredevil going head to head the action was gripping to say the least.
Shane O Mac pulled off the ‘coast to coast’ flying leg drop which did nearly put the Golden Child out for good, but it was not to be. NJD managed to finish the match with the Pedigree. But it was not the last Pedigree of the night, that was delivered by Mr Draven himself, when he hit the ring and attacked his own son ahead of their match (which includes The Ringmaster) at Anything Goes.
Main Event: MJ Windsor, Whitey Ford vs. ‘The Stoned Assassin’ Slam II, Ryan Green
The final match of the night was not about anything other than AWA Supremise.
Amazingly both teams worked well together, from the very start to the bitter end.
It got to a point when it looked like neither team would come out victorious. MJ had hit the ‘WKO’(Windsor Knock Out, formally the Ego Trip), Slam had hooked in the Cough to Get Off, Ford had connected with the Backtoss Piledriver and Green had used the NGFU and yet no one had managed to bring home the win.
Eventually the referee lost control, Ford and Green went to the outside for a brawl and this was the que that Khris Heaven needed, bring a lead pipe into the ring she waited for MJ to grab Slam and hold him prim, Heaven went for the knock out blow but it was not Slam she connected with. Slam had managed to move and it was MJ, the man she was paid to protect who took the pipe-to-head shot.
Slam ridded the ring of Heaven and before MJ could fall to his feet Slam hit a Stunner and the rest, as they say, is history!
The Windsor/Ford team did get manage to take a little something from the match, as whilst brawling on the outside Ford had thrown Green shoulder first into the ring steps, and it was clear for everyone to see and hear that Greens shoulder had dislocated in the process!
So Saturday Night Anarchy concluded with one team taking the victory but carrying a terrible injury, and one team losing out but leaving in what appeared to be a ‘manageable’ physical state.
How will this effect Anything Goes, what will happen between now and then?
