I don't have a ton of time, so I'll keep it brief.


World Heavyweight Title: Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Mark Henry vs. Big Show in A STEEL CAGE!!!!!
I heard Henry is injured again... not sure how/if this will effect the match. Regardless... Bryan should retain here. He's been having a solid heel turn- I'm going to assume it lasts till Wrestlemania. (More on that later). But Bryan will retain, probably escaping the cage while Show and Henry are focusing on each other.
SHOULD WIN: Bryan
WILL WIN: Bryan



John Cena vs. Kane
This storyline hasn't quite lived up to it's potential for me... it's a little silly considering it's supposed to be dramatic. But it doesn't matter. Honestly, the winner/loser of this match doesn't matter. The question is the outcome. Will Cena finally turn heel and "Embrace the Hate?" I'm not sure. All the marks would love to see Cena finally turn heel, and this feels like the storyline that could finally do it. It's been teased as far back as when Rock returned a year ago, teased HEAVILY with Roddy Piper's amazing promo a few weeks back... and then this thing with Kane. Let's face it, if Cena had to turn heel, it's better to build it up than to do it randomly. But I'm still unsure that they will pull the trigger. I'm looking forward to see what exactly happens afterward.

How I would book this... Kane would pin Cena CLEAN. No outside distractions, no DQ finish. Kane hits the tombstone and pins Cena. I honestly can't remember the last time Cena lost a match totally clean. A clean loss to Kane could show that Kane truly got to him, and he could use the momentum to turn heel. But let's face it... Cena is Superman. He can't lose clean. But I'm looking forward to the post-match.

WWE Title Match: CM Punk (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler, with Johnny Ace as guest referee
Punk's not losing the title yet. Lauranitis will call this match "down the middle," but still help Ziggler as much as he can... but since he's trying to save his job, he'll acknowledge Ziggler tapping to the Anoconda Vice. Ziggler is going to have a huge 2012.
WHO SHOULD WIN: Punk.
WHO WILL WIN: Punk.



The 30-Man Royal Rumble Match
It comes down to Orton or Jericho. I'm going to go with Jericho.
WHO SHOULD WIN: Jericho
WHO WILL WIN: Jericho




Other thoughts:

-Zigger is going to have a good 2012.

-Though I don't see Orton winning the Rumble, he's still going to Wrestlemania. Orton vs. Bryan is going to be an awesome match. He'll probably win at Elimination Chamber.

-One of the big selling points to the RR Match this year is that "For the first time, any superstar can enter"... I'm guessing this means we'll see either Punk or Bryan in the match (or both). Which means... there's a chance, a SLIGHT chance, that we could see a unified title match at Wrestlemania. I don't see it happening, but... who knows?

-I hope Foley matters in the match. Not win. But leads to a program with Ziggler or Swagger or something. A match at Wrestlemania would be great.

-Surprise entrants... I'm guessing Road Dogg, maybe Piper. Who knows?

Road Dogg looked like he was in great shape when he was on RAW not too long ago for a guest appearance. In my opinion, I think he has another run left in him. He has charisma and the gift of gab. CM Punk mouthing off to Road Dogg would be pretty entertaining, I think.

I'd love to see a full-on DX reunion with HHH, HBK, New Age Outlaws and X-Pac... At least for nostalgia. Chyna I could live without. I'd guess we'll see it at the 2013 or 14 Hall of Fame.

How are you basing HHH/HBK/XPac/Outlaws as the group? It was HBK/HHH/Rude/Chyna, and then HHH took over and introduced Gunn/Dogg/Xpac. HBK was never in that group with them, unless you count his heel turn on that match on one of the first Smackdowns when he screwed Rock against HHH and celebrated with HHH, but then disappeared and was never seen again until 2002

I was including all living members of DX sans Chyna (who I wouldn't mind in the group if she hadn't become a train wreck). Rude should also be inducted with them- but obviously he couldn't take place in a reunion since he's, you know, dead.

Rude should be a HOF as an individual. Very overlooked, an absolutely excellent talent

I was 2/4... I correctly pick the WWE and World Title matches. Cena/Kane ended in a no contest (which was pretty obvious in retrospect)...

And Sheamus won the Royal Rumble.

I'm really shocked by this move. Jericho has always been a very generous performer- part of why the Internet marks love him is that he makes his opponents look just as good as him, and he's great about putting other guys over- especially up-and-comers. But his whole "End of the World" gimmick is still shrouded in mystery. I'm still expecting Jericho vs. Punk at Mania... but we'll have to see how it continues from here.

As for Sheamus... the guy has grown on me since his initial title runs. I think he makes a better face than heel, personally, but he's good at both. So who will he face? Bryan makes the most sense. Like I said, Y2J vs. Punk- why would Sheamus get involved in that? And he's already held the WWE Title- but never held the World Heavyweight Title. Now's his chance. But I'm guessing Orton is still going to make his way into the match somehow... we'll see.

Other thoughts-

-Was really hoping to see something between Foley and Ziggler. I think a match with Foley at WM could really pull Ziggler into the next level- much like when Foley and Orton fought a few years ago. (A non-PG product would also help, but, you can't have everything).

-I totally called Road Dogg. Loved the "You've Still Got It!" chants. I'd like to see him show up on TV every now and then. He was always one of my favorites.

-Surprise entrants- Road Dogg, Ricardo, Kharma, Jerry Lawler, Booker T, Michael Cole, and Jim Dungan. Of all of these, I was surprised most by Kharma... unfortunately, I think this means she may have lost her baby. She left in May, and it's only been eight months; even with nine months, or a premature birth, she would have had to take a few more months off to let her body heal and take care of the baby. I'm hoping she and the baby are okay, but... I'm not terribly optimistic. Great to see her back, though. Now squash Kelly Kelly and the rest of those Divas!

-No Kane, kind of surprised. He usually makes a big impact in the Rumble.

-The whole "any Superstar can compete" clause they kept talking about seemed to only refer to the announcers. Kinda lame.

-LOVED Kofi's walking-on-his-hands moment. That's the sort of spot usually reserved for John Morrison. Really fun moment, very impressive feat. I'd love to see Kofi get a renewed push... after his feud with Orton he's just become the ultimate midcarder. Not necessarily a title run, yet- but a feud with someone like Jericho could do wonders for him.

-Calling it now- Cody Rhodes will be the next MitB winner (rumored to be happening at Wrestlemania, with them ditching the MitB PPV). I've been a big fan of his since he started.
