Mead?

Today I downloaded an App called "5800+ Drink Recipes"- mostly because I hate it when I go to a bar and the bartender doesn't know how to make the drink I ordered.
Well, this app is awesome to say the least... But in it I found a recipe for "Medd" (pretty sure it should be "Mead.")
2.3 L Honey 9 L Water 4 Lemons 30 gr Cloves 900 gr white Sugar 1 piece Ginger (scoured) 60 gr Yeast 1 piece Bread
Spread yeast on the piece of bread. Boil water, honey and sugar. Stand in an earthenware pot. Skim off any scum. Add lemon juice, cloves and ginger. Leave to cool. When just warm, float the bread and yeast on the top. Cover with a clean cloth. Leave for about 6-8 days. Strain and bottle. Corks should be loose to start with. Leave for at least 5-6 months.
I'm really, really thinking about doing this. I think I'll try to find a different recipe- not that I don't trust this one, but I think for a long project like this I should maybe go with a more reliable source.
Has anybody made/drank mead? Any thoughts?

Mead acan be bought bottled here. Hell theres alot of places here that make it. Some of the best stuff comes from around the West of Scotland if I rememner correctly.
I have friends who love it and friends who have no care for it.
Supposedly very sweet and can go straight to your head for some reason.

I'll probably buy a bottle first, just to see if I like it... I can be kinda picky when it comes to alcohol...

Then you can go lay siege to a few castles...
Actually, if you start pillaging, hit me up.

Mead is good. I've bought a few bottles from a specialist beer retailer.

It is available in the US, but probably won't be found in your average grog shop.
