Alright, so as I stated before, I fucked up my back. I went to get an MRI....I get the results, and I have a few things wrong. I've still got Sciatica really bad. Which blows, but I've had that for a few years now. My MRI comes back and I've got a slight bulge in one of my disks, and I've got some deterioration in another disk. LAME! So they tell me I shouldn't be working construction anymore. So, what am I going to do? I mean, I own my own home remodeling business, and, I work for a General Contracting company. I'm busy all the time with work, and now, I'm told I can't do what I've always done. Immediately, I'm bummed out. How will I live? How will I support my family? Everything at this point just sucks.
So I sit up late last night, and talk with my fiancee about my options. I finally came up with the option that I want to go back to college full time and finish up my teaching degree. I also decide to go where my father works, and see if I can get a part time job there.
So I wake up this morning with a plan. I go grab a coffee and then talk to my fathers boss (who has always liked me)....I ask if they're looking for help part time (they pay pretty decent, so part time work will be alright)....and come to find out, they are going to be looking for help very soon. To say the least, I'm pumped. First part of my plan is working out.
So next, I come home with the good news, and Kristin and I head up to the college. I get there, and come to find out, there is a hold on my account with the college. There is a chance I can't go back to college until I pay them 255 dollars. Well, a lady comes out, and tells me she's going to release the hold on my account, and get me set up. I'm pumped!
So I pay the admissions fee, and get things all set. Then they tell me to go schedule for classes because today they're doing walk in scheduling. Super pumped. I get there, and see a kid who was one of my best friends in high school, nice added bonus....I wait for almost an hour. A lady comes out and says "can I help you"....I tell her I'm trying to set up my classes and she asks if I have an appointment. I tell her I don't, and that I was told they were doing walk ins. She tells me everyone is booked most of the day....but, she'll see what she can do.
10 minutes later, a lady comes out and says "Tim, I'll help ya out"....we go in, and look at my grades from before. I had two classes that were F's....one because it was too late to drop the class, and the other because I hated the class and just didn't go. The advisor tells me she's going to drop the F's, so going into this semester, I'll have full financial aide, and, my grade point, going into the semester will be a 3.0....SCORE for Timmy T....
So we get my schedule all filled out, and she sends me on my way. Now it's time to go tell my mother about this. Little worried she won't be supportive, being that I'm 30 years old, and now looking to go back for like 4 or 5 years of college. We get to my moms, and I tell her, and shes super excited for me. Everything has gone perfect.
So, all in all, everything went SO awesome today. I went from having no direction, to having a great direction, and a great plan. My schedule is awesome, with only one class I'm a little worried about. I'm super pumped about it all, and can't wait to get started. Classes here start in the beginning of September, so I've got a couple weeks until classes start....
SUCH AN AWESOME DAY! Just wanted to share it with you all
