Ill admit, initially i was pumped when it was made official that the Undertaker would be CM Punks next feud. At the end of SS when Taker appeared, it was cool.
Undertaker Vs CM Punk...got to be great.
But then i started to really think, and now im unsure. To me, getting excited about Taker in the main events and Taker being World Champion is a bit hypocritial because i (along with a lot of others) go on about having fresh, younger talent at the top feuding for the belt. However popular, however 'over', is it the right thing to have a guy who is a genuine physical wreck, who should not be continuing much longer in his career, at the top carrying the belt and taking a spot that could be filled by a guy who will stick out another 5-10 years?
Pros and Cons of Taker Vs Punk
PROS
CONS
Ideal scenario (for me)
2 ways of looking at it.
1) Punk enters the feud with Taker. retains the belt and moves on to other challenges.
End of this year Undertaker gets put in the spot again and the feud picks back up.
Undertaker offers a Career/Streak Vs Title match at WM against Punk.
Punk/Taker steal the show with Punk taking the win, cleanly.
2) Punk and Taker feud now with Undertaker winning the title in say, November.
Punk even losses his rematch on Smackdown.
Punk / Taker have seperate feuds next couple months, with Taker retaining against whoever he mets.
Royal Rumble, CM Punk wins the match.
WM - Streak and Title on the line.
CM Punk wins, takes the belt back and ends the Takers streak...does he retire? who knows.
Either way, Undertaker does the right thing and finally pushes a new talent in a way that has never been done before. I truely believe, the more i watch the guy, that Punk is the talent for the honour.
However much we like Taker, however much he has earn his spot and however much we want him to be a part of the scene, sense has to prevail. His time is coming, and we should not want to see another superstar wrestle until they make a fool of themselves or wrestle until they are physically unable. We should be pleased to see them move on, respecting the entertinment they have provided and remembering that once, Taker was Mean Mark Callous and no one gave a fuck. WWE might have the next legend in its hands right now, we need to let them be found!
***SINCE WRITING ALL THIS CRAP, I LOOKED AT THE SMACKDOWN ROSTER AND REALISED THERE AINT ANYONE ELSE WHO COULD FEUD WITH CM PUNK RIGHT NOW.
EXCEPT MORRISION, WHO IS NOT READY FOR THE BELT. FINALY, OLD MAN. OH WELL, SHOULD HAVE DONE MY RESEARCH***

Pros and Cons of Taker Vs Punk
PROS
- this is a huge chance for CM Punk, aside from HBK there is not another superstar with the status and legacy of the Undertaker. Being involved in a feud with this guy, at this level has got to raise Punks profile
- Undertaker is very good at working different styles and has evolved with age and with feuds. This does not have to be a 'big man Vs little man' feud. It is not a Kane Vs Rey, thankfully!
- If done correctly, and Punk walks away with the 'edge' in this feud then WWE will have done the right job in putting Taker back in the World title scene. Even if Taker wins the belt, as long as Punk is the man to take it back off of him, in convincing fashion, Punk will benefit.
CONS
- Firstly, whats the deal with the Undertaker being back 2 seconds and being awarded a championship match? How exactly did he become the No.1 contender. Im not saying Morrision is ready for being a world champ, but he has a number of pinfals over Punk, if anything that would earn him a No.1 contender spot? Regardless of status, should someone be able to walk in a be the contender? Somethings mean more when they are earn't.
- Also, regardless of status, should someone of Takers age, health issues and long term career prospects be considered as a world title holder? Is there any point putting the belt on him, even for a short while? In fact if he is given the belt just because of who he is, then does it not de-value the belt? Smackdown is a show of up and coming talent, to be headed up by an aging veteran is not what i want to see.
- If Taker wins the belt and does not return the favour, the message will be clear. The WWE does not have faith in the new talent unless it has to, when the tried and tested guys are around it will fall to them every time and the WWE can not see past them
