The show opened with news that the CEO & Owner of the AWA, Mr Timothy Draven would not be arriving until later in the evening. In his absence, MJ Windsor would be in charge.
This brought The EGO out to the ring dressed to compete. He declared that he was a busy man and just needed to win ‘his’ championship belt back as quickly as possible, so he said that the nights ‘main event’ would be happening right then and there!
The cameras went backstage to show the World Champion, Slam 2. MJ may have wanted to throw the champ off his game with this announcement, but Slam2 simply grabbed his belt and headed to the ring to defend it!
Slam2 © Vs The EGO MJ Windsor – Undisputed Championship match!
With both men in the ring, the bell was rung. But MJ held up his hand and demanded a mic. He said that he was now not ready as he did not have Khris Heaven at ringside to ensure Slam 2 would not cheat!
This announcement brought about the entrance of Conner O Shea, who was caring the AWA HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!
O Shea simply pointed to the AWATRON as MJ looked on in amazement.
The footage played, it showed Slam Senior holding Khris Heaven down as Conner O Shea attacked Kevin Kash with steel chair! With a referee on standby O Shea rolled Kash over and took 123 and the Hardcore Belt!!! Slam Senior then said that he would never hit a lady, but unluckily for Heaven, she was no lady, he then levelled her with a right fist!
Back in the arena Conner O Shea lifted his new championship above his head and gave MJ a message, he said that whilst the CEO said Ripper was not allowed to challenge for the Hardcore Championship at Anarchy, he made no mention of anyone else! So it is all legal and above board!
In the ring, MJ was fuming, kicking the ropes with anger, but it was about to get worse, with the bell having been rung, Slam 2 was waiting for his moment, he spun MJ around, kicked him in the gut and planted him head first into the mat, followed that with a fast roll up and the referee made the count and Slam 2 had successfully defended his championship!!!
Next up was the Quarter Final matches in the Ruler of the Ring Tournament.
Croc Vs Jackson Kage
A pretty short match, which did showcase Kage as a potential star, but potential was not enough on this night as Croc used his experience to pick up the win and advance.
Conner O Shea Vs Vangoric
With no CEO, and with MJ busy shouting at anyone and everyone, it was unclear if O Shea’s newly won Hardcore championship was on the line in this match.
Ultimately that did not matter as O Shea kept his word and defeated Vangoric, adding his name to the list of those advancing.
O Shea had had a busy and successful night, however it was about to come to an abrupt end. As the new champ reached the backstage area after his tournament advancing win, he was ambushed by Khris Heaven, Kevin Kash and MJ Windsor! After some foreign object shots, MJ hit the EgoTrip and Kevin Kash made the pin, the same referee as O Shea had used earlier made the count and Kash’s streak of losing and winning back the Hardcore Championship in quick succession continued. Afterwards MJ informed the referee that due to his actions earlier in the night, he was FIRED!!!
MJ then told Kash not to enjoy the success too much as he would be judged on the outcome of the next match.
Ripper Vs Kevin Kash
Next up was effectively Kash’s 3rd match of the night, but he would not be alone as Khris Heaven stood at ringside as the match with Ripper got underway. Turning into the longest match of the night at this point, both men fought hard, hitting signature moves and scoring close pins.
It was however the ‘Heaven Factor’ that decided this match. Having ‘fainted’ at ringside, the referee’s attention was taken as he attended to her. Leaving an opening for Kash to grab his newly reclaimed title belt and use it with force on Ripper. Making a miraculous recovery, Heaven pointed into the ring and the referee moved into action, making the pin and handing Kash the win.
Anthony Jordan Vs Chris Holtz
Best match of the night! At nearly 40 minutes this match was a fully loaded spot feast with the desire to win clearly etched on both men’s face.
In the closing moments Anthony Jordan hit the Perfect Example and was going to go for the pin when the CEO’s voice echoed around the arena. The AWATRON lit up to show the CEO, along with MJ Windsor, Kevin Kash and Khris Heaven all sitting in the back of a limousine.
The CEO said the show had gone to hell without him there, only saved by MJ Windsor making some excellent calls.
But he had had enough and was going to make some announcements before ending the show!
The CEO declared that he could not be bothered to wait for a winner so he was calling this match a draw! And neither man would advance, he said that since Anthony Jordan made it clear he had little interest in titles and more interest in beating Holtz, it should not be such a big problem.
The CEO then said he was providing Jordan with a gift. That gift would be a match against Chris Holtz at Ruler of the Ring, 1 on 1.
A 60 MINUTE IRON MAN MATCH!!!
The CEO then said that with Jordan and Holtz out, that left only 3 men advancing in the tournament.
He said this would not do, but it was ok because it tied in with his next announcement.
He has decided to throw Ripper a bone, giving him his AWA Championship rematch against Slam 2 at Ruler of the Ring. He claimed that the New Connection had little concern about the winner because MJ Windsor would be now filling the 4th man void in the tournament, and would simply take ‘his’ belt back after winning the tournament and meeting the ‘champion’ at the special Championship Challenge Anarchy. The CEO said the Semi-Finals would be Conner O Shea Vs Kevin Kash, and Croc Vs MJ Windsor, ensuring that it was a ‘New Connection’ Final!
With that the CEO declared that the show was over! But as he and the New Connection got set to leave, the limousine was suddenly shifted out of sight, in frantic action the cameras showed a huge track that had ploughed into the back of the limo and pushed it across the car park! As the vehicles came to a halt the truck door opened and down jumped the AWA Champion, Slam 2. With a smile on his face he laughed to himself as Anarchy went off air.
