Versus the World

[Anthony Jordan]

*The fans come to life and start roaring as Pearl Jam's "Even Flow" hits. A few seconds later the AWA Intercontinental Champion appears from behind the curtain carrying his title over his left shoulder.*

MTMT: "The biggest match in AWA history is a mere five days away! We will have an Undisputed World Champion!"

Ventura: "It'll be a huge night for Jake! I've already booked the conference room at the Hilton for a big party. Don't even bother asking to come, Matt. You're not invited."

MTMT: "What makes you think I'd want to celebrate with Jake Andrews in the event that he does win?"

Ventura: "Who wouldn't?"

MTMT: "I can find 20,000 in the audience tonight."

*Jordan wastes no time playing to the fans as he walked down the aisle, climbed the stairs, and entered the ring. He motions for a microphone and receives one within seconds. He music slowly dies down as he walks to the middle of the ring.*

MTMT: "Anthony Jordan looks very serious tonight."

Ventura: "Men get serious when the end is near."

*Jordan looks around to the crowd and raises his microphone.*

Jordan: "A smile is almost always a good thing. People smile when they are happy, pleased, or just feeling good. I like to smile. I think it is a good thing. Heck, I plan on smiling a lot after I win this Sunday."

*The crowd pops for that.*

Jordan: "However, there are such things as bad smiles. A bad smile is when a sick individual becomes so overjoyed at the prospect of committing a sadistic, heinous act on his fellow man. Such a smile was on display after Nicholas Jacob Draven shoved Jake Andrews into me leading to the eventual pin in Anarchy's main event."

*The crowd goes wild as Jordan shakes his head.*

Jordan: "A lot of people think Nicky smiled because he embarrassed an unsavory character like Jake Andrews, but for those who know his family, we know better. He smiled because now he has the logical link to butt into my match at Battle of Champions. Nicky Draven is hoping and praying that Jake Andrew manages to cheat his way to victory in the third match of our rivalry."

MTMT: "I don't know if I buy that."

Jordan: "You see, if that happens, then he can rush down to the ring with his dad, attack Andrews, abuse the family's power to get a match, and end Battle of Champions as the white knight who saved the AWA from 'The Solution.'"

*The fans cheer that scenario as they love NJD more than Andrews.*

Jordan: "And you people would cheer. Those cheers would justify the Draven family's evil plan. Unfortunately for them, the AWA needs a 'Role Model' more than a white knight, and he will take his place at the top of the company in five short days."

*The fans cheer again.*

Jordan: "The more likely scenario is me winning, so we all will ask the question of 'Will Nicky and Timmy Draven try to take me out after I win to regain their spotlight?' The answer is 'yes.' I failed to stop the Dravens at Anarchy, but I will have eyes in the back of my head."

*Jordan backs up into the corner and looks around.*

MTMT: "He's getting paranoid. With his best friend gone, Anthony Jordan is off."

Ventura: "Good! Easier for Jake!"

*The fans are quiet as they aren't quite sure how to react.*

Jordan: "Notice how Timmy Draven has been working this. He cannot handle that anything he creates will pale in comparison to what he does, so he forges some documents to make his son a Windsor. In his mind, that makes all of BWA's success his own. He hates the fact that any links to BWA exist, but he cannot stand it that a former Windsor Corporation employee is about to win his title. That is why he and his boy want Jake Andrews to win. No one will shed a tear if Jake Andrews is screwed over. I bet all of you would love it!"

*The fans cheer as Jordan nods.*

Jordan: "If it did not come at my expense, so would I. No one likes Jake Andrews."

Ventura: "Hey!"

MTMT: "Get over it, Jesse."

Jordan: "But it will not be as popular of a move if they screwed me over. Now that is not to say that the Dravens care about popularity. I do not know if you people know it or not, but the Dravens could not care less about any of you."

*The fans boo at that statement as Jordan moves back to the middle of the ring.*

Jordan: "The Dravens turn more than a race car. All they care about is themselves!"

*The fans boo again as they dislike where Jordan is going.*

Jordan: "Michael Windsor is nothing but trash..."

*The fans cut Jordan off with massive cheers as he frowns.*

Jordan: "But he was a good man before the Dravens wasted his blood and energy using him as a pawn to get the family back. Michael went out of his way to help them, and they thank him by setting his career back and destroying his family name. I cannot defend Michael and will not because he ditched me like a coward, but I understand the stress he was under."

*Jordan sighs.*

Jordan: "So they took my best friend from me. To top it off, the news hits Chantelle hard, so she blames herself and leaves."

Ventura: "She's probably landed in London by now."

MTMT: "That was uncalled for!"

Jordan: "So Timmy got his wife and daughter back at the expense of my best friend and my girlfriend. What a great guy!"

*The Intercontinental Champion rolls his eyes.*

Jordan: "But I am not letting Michael and Chantelle off the hook. They need me more than I will ever need them!"

*The fans cheer Jordan as he paces around the ring.*

Jordan: "I do not need anyone around me to succeed. I have beaten Jake Andrews without any support, and I can do it again!"

*The fans cheer loudly again.*

Jordan: "Life is tough right now: my best friend ran away, my girlfriend ran away, and I have to watch my back at all times. However, the solution to my woes will be to pound 'The Solution' into dust at Battle of Champions and become the Undisputed World Champion!"

*The fans go wild as Jordan gives his goofy grin.*

MTMT: "Remaining confident will be important."

Ventura: "It's just for show. He's broken inside."

*"The Role Model" adjusts the belt on his shoulder.*

Jordan: "It is Anthony Jordan against the world, and I do not like the world's odds."

*The fans pop again as Jordan goes to leave the ring. Is it over?*

['The Solution' Jake Andrews]

('Devour' by Shinedown plays as the fans toss out their loud, deafening jeers. Anthony Jordan pulls his leg back into the ring as he was about to exit. 'The Solution' comes from the back with his World Championship title cradled in his left arm. A mic in his right hand and his 'Solution to all problems' t-shirt. He doesn't waste time as he motions for the music to be cut off ASAP. The techs in the back do so as Jake waits mere seconds for the crowd to settle. He gives up and begins to talk, knowing they will settle so Jordan can hear what he has to say.)


'The Solution': Who cares about Windsor and your whore leaving you?!


(The fans boo Jake due to him calling Chantelle a 'whore')


'The Solution': I for one don't give a damn. And you know why?

Because it has NOTHING to do with me beating you from one end of the building, to the other end. I'll beat you from the parking lot to the rafters. Then, I'll push you right off and let your fate parish like that of Owen Hart


(The boos are louder than ever as Jake flashes his cocky smirk.)


MTMT: "He did NOT just say that! No way did he say that!...."

Jesse: "C'mon Matt, it's been ten years. If Jake wants to compare Jordan to Owen Hart, then he can!"


(Jake Andrews begins to pace back and forth as he raises his mic and continues)


'The Solution': You always have to be the victim, don't you Jordan?

You walk around here talking about how YOUR friend left you. How YOUR girl left you.... How YOU'RE at risk because of the Draven Family.

But, you are over looking single handidly the most threatening man to your career.....

'The Solution'


(Jake stops pacing as he begins to stare a hole through Jordan's soul.)


'The Solution': Who the hell are you? Bob Ross? Mr. Rogers?

Talking about smiling and being happy?!


MTMT: "What's Jake's fascination with dead people today?"

Jesse: "It's a metaphor to Jordan about his match with Jake this Sunday."

MTMT: "Metaphor? Pretty big word for ya. I'm proud that you used it right."

Jesse: "Shut up!"


(Jake Andrews begins to walk down the entrance way towards the ring as he continues to talk.)


'The Solution': So you and me?

We are going to have a proverbial 'Rubber Match'. We are both one and one against each other. But this time, there is a lot more on the line.

A lot more than Chantelle. A lot more than your pride. A lot more than your fruity 'smile'

And that lot more? Your title, and more importanly, my title. To unify them and become the best of the best in the AWA and the whole wrestling world.

This Sunday I will have one thing in common with Phil Lee from that classic film.... we will both be named Best of the Best! And there won't be a damned thing 'The Role Model' can do about it!


(Jake has made it to the ring and rolls in under the ropes. He quickly gets to his feet as Jordan adjusts his belt and doesn't look to worried about an attack.)


'The Solution': Blah....Blah....Blah

Timmy Draven this, Nicky Draven that. BWA comes up once again.

Get out of the past Jordan, No one cares about what you did twenty years ago!

MTMT: "Come now, it's only been a few short years."

Jesse: "Yeah but to the impressive youth of Jake, Jordan was in the BWA twenty years ago!"


(Jake Andrews places his title over his shoulder and then jumps up and sits on the top turnbuckle.)


'The Solution': Anthony, I wouldn't look so calm if I were you. You look like I'm going to keep my hands off of you. You look like you aren't worried about Sunday....Like you actually have a chance.

Let me tell you Jordan.... you have a chance. A chance to look like the loser you really are.

I'll let you in on a little secret. You haven't had real competition since the last time we fought. Me? I've had challenge after challenge. Ladder matches, Elimination chambers.... all kinds of matches I refuse to be in, I was force into because of the World Title.

This time? you and me, one on one. NO weapons, no chambers, no cages.....

You and me? we are going to rumble the good ol' fashioned way! And when you lose? you'll have NO ONE to blame but yourself.....


(Jake Andrews sits on the turnbuckle, lowers his mic, grins at Jordan and adjusts his title. The Fans boo as they wait, knowing Anthony Jordan will have something more to say.)
