WINTER'S BONE WINS GRAND JURY PRIZE!!!!!

WINTER'S BONE WINS GRAND JURY PRIZE!!!!!
I'll tell you why I'm so excited for this-
www.imdb.com/name/nm3454164/
Lauren Sweetser, who has a supporting role in this, is a good friend of mine. We are both Theatre Performance majors and Missouri State... we've even done a scene together (Chekhov's "The Proposal") for class.

Nathan Shelton, who did some special effects, is another good friend of mine... he directed me in "Dracula" and "Bug," and we were in "A Christmas Carol" together. He's one of the most talented writers/directors/actors/effects guy I know. I even did a reading of one of his screenplays (he's working on a deal right now, trying to sell the script), and I'm writing my screenplay with him in mind for the lead role.
The film also got a distribution deal today from Roadside Films!! Especially since it won the grand prize, I'm sure it will get a limited distribution at the very least!
Now, while most of the excitement of this lands on my friends, this news also effects me in a selfish way... Lauren and I are seniors in our BFA program, and will be going to LA this April to do a showcase. We'll be inviting a bunch of agents and casting directors... and the fact that we can mention this film will help convince a lot of these agents and casting directors to actually go. I'm sure they'll mostly be there to see Lauren, but hopefully I can impress 'em all as well!
