Not sure if this a spolier really, the show has aired and its all over the web.
Anyway...wwe.com reports that
In an historic moment, WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon told the WWE Universe about his future plans for ECW on Syfy. In three weeks, ECW will end, but a brand new, innovative, never-before-seen program will premiere in the same Tuesday night timeslot, 10/9 CT, on Syfy. McMahon said it’ll be “the next evolution of WWE; the next evolution of television history.”
Vince has bored of his little game with the ECW brand, he could not bring himself to let Heyman control it and make it successful because that would have been accepting that someone else has a good head for business. Vince probably thinks that most 'new fans' will only know his ECW now, so he is happy with that. The show might as well have been Heat or Velocity anyway.
Oh well, i can only guess they might possibly be re-branding the show as an actual development show? If it gives new guys experience working TV shows then thats a good thing.
I really hope Christian retained at the Rumble due to the fact that ECW was closing and putting the belt on Jackson would have been pointless.
Other than that, i dont know what to think and will leave my judgement until it all changes and all is reveiled.
I bet Heyman is pleased he will no longer have to see his brand whored out week after week.

Though Vince McMahon's announcement Tuesday was vague, one key detail became clear--in three weeks, ECW will be replaced in its timeslot by the "next evolution" of the WWE product.
PWInsider.com reported that the new show, which will focus on younger wrestlers, will be called WWE NXT. That was not confirmed explicitly in the announcement, but it does fit the overall motif of McMahon's cryptic words.
Plans to drop the ECW moniker, especially since the current product in no way resembles the "extreme" nature of the brand, had been in development for several months. The show's poor ratings had become an area of concern for both WWE and SyFy, and the hope is that a rebranding can breathe some life into the product.
Sources had said recently that SyFy returned to its original idea of asking WWE to incorporate science-fiction and alternative elements into the Tuesday wrestling broadcast. It is unclear if WWE's new vision honors said request.
At said last paragraph: BRING BACK MAX MOON!
Funny how he's gonna go with a three letter anagram much like NWA: TNA
And, did SyFy think for one second that WWE would have Science fiction?! Maybe they'll bring in a crazy scientist with a DeLoreon. Someone (Ryder) should go back in time and get All 80's as a partner to beat DX.

Personally, I am glad they are doing this. ECW should be dropped. I was excited when they were "bringing back" ECW....but after a short time, it turned from being ECW-ish to Heat....it was pretty lame....then the program got exciting for a while....and recently has died out again.
If they want to make the show more "SyFy"....then they should do what I said a long time ago. Put the "gimmick" characters on there. Kane, Big Daddy V(sure, he was a fat ass, but he'd fit back on ECW), and other "gimmick" wrestlers....then add a couple regular guys on there, and of course, use the younger guys on there. I honestly think if they're not going to push Kane on Smackdown or Raw, why not let him go to ECW and be the evil, nothing can stop him, BIG RED MONSTER....and destroy everyone....then they could build up a new, young face who could eventually defeat the "unstoppable" champion.
One of my favorite feuds was CM Punk vs. Big Daddy V....Punk was the young face trying to defeat the much larger, scary heel....had it been done right, that feud could have been awesome.
Like Luke said, I'll wait before I judge anything too much....I hope things work out though.

No real change. They're just accepting ECW for what it is, so kill off "Extreme" because it's anything but. Ship Christian and Benjamin to SmackDown and move Bourne and a few others to Tuesday. Give Ryder vignettes until he becomes better with the mic and can lead the renamed brand. Make it all development and exposure.

I want to see a new guy brought up from FCW once a week. Even if he doesn't stay on the main roster, I'd love to see them give us a taste of what they have waiting to move up... I think that'd be pretty cool Then again, it could suck...they do like to mess things up

I read that ECW will infact be changed to WWE:NXT....and, it will have a lot of guys move up from Indy feds like OVW, FCW, and RoH....I think it's a pretty badass idea....but, if they are going to really make NXT all about the next generation of stars, they need to take Christian, Benjamin, Golddust, Helms, Kozlov, and maybe, only maybe Regal and Zeke(although I think Zeke could stay and be a monster heel that destroys all the new talent....then, drop Evan Bourne and Primo(unless they are going to team him with his brother again), and let these guys run wild.... Like I said....if done right, this could be awesome....I really hope this new show helps Brian Danielson's decision to move up finally. He's wrestled some dark matches, but felt he wasn't ready so he dropped back down....he could be a main eventer on WWE:NXT....that would be awesome! If you look at FCW's talent page.... www.fcwwrestling.info/talent.htmlThere are some promising "looking" guys there....I do say "looking" because ya never know if they have any talent....but some of these guys look promising. Looking OVW.... www.ovwrestling.com/superstars.htmlThese guys don't look as promising....lol Looking at RoH.... www.rohwrestling.com/multimedia/roster.aspxThese guys have potential as well. Austin Aries is incredible....if they brought him in, that would be awesome!

thing being, WWE does not seem to allow anyone to come in and be themselves, they repackage and remould and then dump the talent when they can not fit their brand new characters.
It starts and stops with the fact that Vince can not allow a guy to get over using a character that was not his or a wwe idea. or at the least that the guy was IN the wwe whilst the character was brought about (John Cena rapper gimmick etc).

Luke is right. Not only that but, Vince and the team will make anyone change their entire move-set too. So, their AWESOME Spectacular moves that make them great, get hidden and dropped except for one WM every three years. Like Lesnar and the Shooting Star

I agree with Brock concealing the SSP. If he did it every night, you wouldn't be impressed with it.
