So what do people think of the Jericho return?
At first i was a bit pissed off, the fact that he came out in a friggin jacket that had lights on it, leather trousers etc etc i was thinking NO! I want the heel Jericho that was the very best heel the WWE had on its books.
And then Jericho spent a long long time teasing the fans, getting them to pop and cheer, acting like he was going to talk and then he just walked off.
And i think i like it.
I think he will show up next week as a heel, telling the fans that he played them on his return, that even though he left the WWE as a hated man the fans cheered on his return and he proved the fans were fickle.
Well thats what i hope anyway, and in fact i could hear a few jeers coming through as he stood on the stage having milked his return for so long, and im sure i could just make out the beginings of his trademark cocky grin.
Jericho Vs Punk needs to happen at WM.
Jericho needs to be the heel and Punk needs to win the match. Jericho can help Punk regain the momentum he lost thanks to the ball being dropped in his Cena feud and the bullshit HHH story that followed.
I would like to see Punk hold onto the belt until WM and retain, simply because id like a long title reign, however i also think that maybe Jericho should win it at Elimination Chamber, and have Punk envoke his rematch at WM and actually win the WWE Championship at WM.
Jericho is always deserving of a title run, but the best think about Jericho is he can loss matches and still be a main eventer, he is at that point now were he can look like a star whilst putting over someone else.
Punk/Jericho could steal the show, but then again i thought Jericho/Edge would be amazing and it never really lived up to it.

Jericho/Punk would be choice. The history is there as Jericho ended Punk's 1st title reign, and Punk never got any revenge. Let's see how they fuck it up.

I watched it and at first I felt hard done by. Don't get me wrong I was marking out when Jericho returned, I make no qualms about that. I've loved Jericho since his first debut so I was just glad to see him back. I felt hard done that we didn't get to hear a classic Jericho promo.
However, the more I think over it the more I realize what he just did. He managed to turn a crowd who were going mad for him to booing him without saying a single word. Not only that but he also left the majority of fans with more questions. Questions regarding the videos and what the hell was up with them and also with that promo in general.
It gets more people to watch next week and will leave the IWC fighting and arguing about whether it was "great" or just "lazy" but the fact of the matter is they are talking about it. Like it or not.

the man is great at his craft, there is no denying it.
from just about a couple of minutes into the return i felt he was playing everyone, or at least i hope he was. i want heel Jericho, not babyface Jericho.
The look on his face said so much without him uttering a word, he had spent months during his last epic run telling the fans how lowly they were, never once siding with them, yet he returns and because he is dressed all 'rock star' and smiling the arena pops like crazy? i bet he fucking loved it, controlling that many people, and millions more watching no doubt.
what a player.

If he comes back as babyface Jericho, it won't be as good . . . if he's back as heel Jericho, it will be amazing . . . Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk = WM success I do not watch Smackdown (don't get the channel) . . . how has Daniel Bryan been doing as the champion over there?

I actually prefer Jericho as a face, just the same reason that everybody was cheering for him when he returned- he's talented, he's charasmatic, he's fun. He is my favorite all-around wrestler- on the mic and in the ring. And I don't want to boo him. I don't deny that he is incredible as a heel as well, but... I'm so amazed by his promos and heelish tactics, that I can't help but cheer for him.
At his return, I admit, I was pissed... It felt so anti-climactic. But obviously I missed the point (though part of me wondered, at the time, if this was actually scripted, or if he was breaking kayfabe). His return did exactly what it was meant to do- kept him heel, and kept the mystery alive. And he didn't even say a word... the more I think about it, the more I love it. Y2J!

Timbo,
D-Bryans run is much as we would expect from the WWE. He has been given some wins since getting the belt, but they are doing little to push him. This week on Raw he beat Cody Rhodes, now Rhodes is awesome but the win over Rhodes seemed to be something of an 'upset', thats how i saw it being played anyway, he won with a roll up. Im not saying Rhodes should be buried, but the 'World Heavyweight Champion' should have gotten a better win. The match was also only about 4 minutes.
They should push Bryan hard and fast as a no-nonsense wrestler, he should be making people tap using various holds, thus showing that whilst he is small and an underdog, he has something that sets him apart. He should be consistantly aggressive.
I really, really fail to see why WWE puts its top belts on people that it has no real intention of pushing. Maybe i am pissing something but it just seems completely pointless. Push the champions (especially new/first time ones) as strong, unbeatable for the first month or so, once established then a few kinks can be found for contenders to exploit. Then when a title change takes place it will look impressive. If Bryan lost the belt tomorrow, whoever beat him would not get a 'rub' from the win and would not legitimately be able to claim that they had beaten 'the best' because Bryan is not shown as the best.
Also, putting the champions (including Punk) in opening and mid card spots is wrong.
WWE reacts way to quickly to ratings drops. But maybe the ratings would not drop in the first place if the wrestlers positioned at the top as champions had actually been made to look worthwhile in the first place.
They put Punk/Bryan etc at the so called top, having spent years bashing them and now expect the fans to 100% get behind them?
Ill shut up now.

ive changed my mind.
i think the Bryan booking is pushing him to a heel turn, whilst im not sure how that would turn out i do think it is probably better than being a smiley babyface who has no 'edge'. maybe they will go down the 'chicken shit' heel road with Bryan, his 'wins' have been a bit of a fluke lately and each time he celebrates like mad, which (like the drawn out Jericho love fest) could eventually get annoying and garner boos.
it might not be great for Bryan but its better than nothing at all.
I spotted the Sheamus face turn long before anyone else i knew mentioned it, and most thought i was wrong. Maybe Bryan is the next 'surprise' turn. Although i think that others might have already started to think this way.

Not to mention a "sore" subject/name, but if the WWE were smart, they would make Bryan this generations Chris Benoit. Let him be someone that people respect, heel or face, either way, the people respect him inside the ring because he's awesome. I would also be alright with seeing someone come in as his manager, but NOT ONE OF THESE "Divas" . . . a heel, submission expert could be PERFECT for the WWE right now. Have him "injure" someone by locking in a submission move and not letting go. Have him wrap a referee in a submission move. Hell, have him lock Teddy Long in the move. If they REALLY wanted to push a heel Bryan, have him in a match with Big Show, and have Bryan lock in a submission move on Big Show . . . AND HAVE BIG SHOW TAP! That would show that the much smaller guy could hold his own as the champion because he was able to make the "biggest" guy in wrestling tap out. I think it would be awesome!

I could get behind the whole "silent, but violent" character.

Timbo, as we always say 'great minds think alike' and we often think alike.
i was going to mention Benoit but actually stopped myself, but now its out in the open then yes, a Benoit style character would be good. I think it would be better as heel, with the fans eventually siding with simply because of how excellent he is in the ring. A slight version of the Austin 3:16 character, but without the promo skills! Just pure agression, he would end up being a cool heel that turns babyface.

Why Vince doesn't sign LuMmy to write storylines is beyond me . . . the man could make millions . . . (wait, what's that? He already does?) Oh, well . . . he could make millions . . . plus millions by signing us

On an interesting note, I was reading on wrestleview.com that when Chris Jericho made his return, Raw lost around 80,000 viewers. The highest part of the show was when John Cena was out. Interesting, huh?
